hehehe...

No that was not Mencken. However here is some Latin that Mencken used :)

It is Tertullian who is credited with the motto, Credo, quia absurdum est: I believe because it is incredible. Needless to say, he began life as a lawyer."

he he he he.... [secretly, I do like lawyers --I have to, who else would defend me *g*]

Still though, there is room in my world for those religious who accord me room in theirs

I do the same, the difference is, my level of patience is way smaller than yours.

In the past, it would bother me more than it does today.
Now, I simply leave them talking to themselves, maybe they will convince the walls around them. [provided they do not infringe on my sphere of interest].

I have always had a conflict, who to side with to terminate the other. Christianity and Communism. Mencken expressed something similar:

The trouble with Communism is the Communists, just as the trouble with Christianity is the Christians

it's a random sort of species we have here.

Here, in SI, or out there in the real world? I can live with "random sort of species". Problem is, Fundamentalists can not. That's the problem.

Both groups are funny, but dangerous. The Communists are dangerous to your pocket. Christians are dangerous to your free-thinking mind.

On the other hand, the influence they place on children and the potential damage to their minds, in my eyes, I consider such to be evil. More, criminal. Sorry but for those who cross the line and start parroting their venom, I have no obligation to be considerate at all.

Perhaps my personal experiences have made me the way I am towards religious fundamentalists.
