Hi Ali Chen; I might as well beat John Walliker to the punch regarding high impedance of RDRAM outputs... John's right. Instead of the traditional low impedance voltage drivers, Rambus uses high impedance current drives. This, of course, is why the voltages look like Hell during reads. In particular, this chaos obtains at the driver. The high impedance drivers idea was another one of the bad ideas used in RDRAM. And by the way, at the same time as they reduced the supply voltage for the part, they also decided to switch from voltage mode outputs to current mode outputs, thus increasing the output compliance range problem. -- Carl
