Like OMD just said, I know there are programs that you can download to speed things up. I'm not sure where to find them, but your computer manufacturer would be a good place to start. Even in a perfect world you will never get 56K. Some of the pipline gets reserved for technical backchecking, or some such mumbo jumbo, heading in the other direction. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told that 35-40 K is normal for a 56K modem, and that in the 40's is considered good. Same thing happens with the higher speeds as well. My DSL is supposedly 640K. According to my ISP, most people get about 440. I've been getting about 550K, but there is still a difference because of the administrative/technical needs. My soon to be new provider has 800K to 2Mil K packages. Every time you turn around things get faster and faster.

Did you get those 2 email BTW that I sent the other night to AZ. It looked like one came back undeliverable.
