I don't know why all this criticism of the Catholic Church. As a non-practicing Catholic, except of course when I ask God to make my team (Dallas) win cause I have money riding on the game, I find the religion the most moderate of all when compared to most other major religions. The Jews have the pretention that they are "The Chosen Ones" and all others are scum. The Muslim predicate forgiving thy neighbor by planting a bomb under his ass. The Evangelical movement asks its followers to send their money or God will call him upstairs (a la Oral Roberts). The Jehovah's witnesses spend their whole life preaching about about the end of the world and busting people's chops on Saturday mornings. The Hare Krishnas make bald people look good. Etc etc etc. The Catholic religion may not be perfect. It has had its share of dirtbags. But all in all it served a purpose in the development of our planet. It brought civility to all corners of the world as well as an education to the commoners. These two things alone are the pillars of our societies. After all, who could argue with the Ten Commandments. Vince
