sig - my sense is that DELL is working their "fast follower" model here. No one yet knows what the convergence devices will be, what will take off in the market. It will be more powerful than a palm, more flexible than a cell phone, smaller and less complex than a notebook. Why not let CPQ and HP throw product concepts on the wall, see what sticks, pick the winner, and count on the DELL machine to get market share? That's what they did in servers, and are now doing in appliances. CPQ has had server appliances in the market for 2 years, yet DELL is getting the press, and probably the sales.

MSD is probably correct to wait and see on this one.
