Is it fear or prudence that keeps people on the sidelines? Based on posts I've read on SI, there are three reasons investors give for being long right now:

1. You know the market is overvalued, but you think that there will be a short term bull run that you don't want to miss.

2. You know the market is overvalued, but you're a day trader with Level II, and you can get in and out of issues quickly.

3. You know the market is overvalued, but your company contributes to your 401K, you don't plan on retiring for 20 to 40 years, and you don't believe in market timing anyway.

Make that four:

4. Price is no consideration when investing in Gorillas and Kings.
