if i'm not mistaken, you and i were dealing with antivirus rescue disks. yes, i know, in v2000 they're one and the same with the rescue disks. but i believe her problem is with testing the set and i'm betting that she isn't following all the steps. full format can be looked at if the disks aren't good.

for example, my zip (actually jaz) rescue disks give me the same non-result that e got when i try to test them. what she needs to do, imo, is reboot in safe mode.

but she also needs to close all apps (that'd be including explorer) before restarting with both the boot floppy and the zip disk still in place. we need to know if she is doing that. then, after reboot, if she gets the screen that says to wait several minutes and try to restart, she needs to do that.

if the second retry isn't getting it, then she'll get a screen that says, "we have determined that your last run of windows was not successful. was there a problem with the boot [Y,N]?" she should type Y

then she'll get a prompt about safe mode boot... "would you like to boot in safe mode [Y,N]? type Y

that should do it. the iomega rescue screen will appear telling her she's running windows from her zip or jaz. but another dialog box will pop up with a bunch of stuff. just click ok and the next thing she'll see is "if this is a test, it worked!".

follow onscreen instructions to cancel your way out and shut down the pc. remove rescue disks and restart.

:)
