I guess your saying that the future is likely to be so bleak for so long that purchase considerations are moot.

73-74 only lasted two years. This from the guy who argues that investing at the wrong time has led to negative gains requiring decades to recover.

I just want an alarm clock to go off that says it's time to think about getting long again, if I subscribe to the idea that I should let market risk alone dictate my investment patterns. More and more, I think this deserves less weight than I've been giving it.

Unfortunate thing about alarm clocks, is they don't go off unless you decide ahead of time how they should be set. That makes thinking about entry points critical, unless you are already fully invested.

Setting entry points doesn't mean they can't be adjusted as new info comes to light.
