Dear Elmer:

Go to JC's page.

See Athlon at 500MHz on PC100 does QMC w/prefetch at 417 seconds. A 1GHz Cmine on i820 with PC800 does it in 416 seconds. A 256MB (2 RIMM) on same platform takes longer at 424.63 seconds. Thus a 1.2G K75 would take 170.75 seconds. A dual PIII at 700Mhz on the faster BX takes 347.34 seconds or a 66% of the time a single PIII 700 does it. Thus the best dual 1GHz Cmine would take 243.14 seconds. Because the Athlon FSB is not shared, a dual 1.2GHz Tbird would take 85.38 seconds or about 1/3 of the dual Cmine. There could be further improvement when the fact of dual FPUs are taken advantage of in the compiler.
