I started looking for a good online broker about 2 1/2 years ago. Living in Texas, i went to Austin and checked out Cyber, but they couldn't support remote traders back then. I wound up going with MBT instead, and what a lucky move on my part. I've watched Cyber thinking i might someday switch, but have never thought they were worth the move. Now, after 30 months with MBT, i'll never move. I've been thru some hairy trading situations, but they have always been happy to work with me on any problem.
Cyber built a large part of their reputation saying they were MBT's underdog, but with a fancier interface. But most of the traders who are still around and profitable have learned that the best broker is not the one with it's own software, but the one that bends over backward to support the client, is compassionate, helpful and most of all, puts the growth of the infrastructure and systems first. To an active trader, service and support is KING.
i can get MBT any time i need them either in real-time chat or on the phone. I use the live order desk a ton, especially at the close, and can always get the trade when i need it. NO VOICEMAIL.
I'm not a cyber basher by any means, but i have a lot of friends ask me about MBT on a daily basis, and i know they are frustrated with Cyber. MBT is constantly adding and updating servers and services, what more do you want?
