mr mark, [edited] just to make sure, I made rescue disks with Norton Utilities 4.0 just now. It took 3 floppies and I set format to FULL FORMAT, then clicked CREATE.

After all 3 floppies were finished, I inserted the BOOT disk just made and rebooted [with no CD in the CD-ROM drive]. After less than a minute a message said my test of the boot floppy was successful. I removed the floppy and hit Ctrl-Alt-Del for another reboot - this time from the HD.

Next time Norton reminds me to update the rescue diskettes I'll just hit UPDATE instead of CREATE.

It's a good idea to actually TEST the rescue boot disk.
