Why does the CMGI model not appeal to you? If one is an early investor in CMGI, one could have make a big return on the investment.

That wasn't a value judgement as much as a means of questioning how MRV could be considered a threat to JDSU. If MRV is maintaining its CGMI model, there's no way it could be in the running to become a serious fiber optics components and modules player. Its strength would be in spinning off its start-ups, much as a VC would.

MRVC closed on Friday at $46/share, close to the price you sold the stock and left the thread. It will have two IPO this year, one component and one subsystem business.

Have these IPOs been announced or any approximate dates given? During the last CC I followed (before selling), I was disappointed with Noam's lack of candor. You can only promise so long before your audience loses confidence.

I spoke with the CEO of a pre-IPO company while at Supercom and he said he won't take his company public until he has 6 months backlog. Do you know if MRV is waiting for its companies to have the same sort of strength?

I believe investors want performance not promise. I know I do.
