JDN, I said two years ago, they should ignore AMD and concentrate on making the best (meaning RELIABLE first, FAST second) Microchips in the industry. That view has been in minority for last few years at Intel. The primary objective of the new initiatives has been to corner the market, and do so with half baked ideas such as constantly changing (now proprietary) socket definitions, AGP, MMX, MMX 2, SSE, USB, now RDRAM etc. Only a very few FANATICS really give a damn about a couple hundred or less extra points on the speed chart. These people make probably a billion dollar (positive)difference in Intel's bottom line every quarter. Joe
