I've been reading this thread for a while now, and I've noticed that an importants piece of information seems to have slipped by. It's now known that Sanctuary Woods sold off their entertainment studio to Disney for $1.9 million dollars. But what exactly did Disney get for that money? I mean, they didn't just get an office filled with programmers and artists; Disney could have bought that for themselves without SW. No, Disney bought an office filled with programmers and artists and the software engine that SW used to create The Riddle of Master Lu, which if you all will recall, is the same engine that they bought from Microprose a few years back. So, doesn't anyone find it odd that Sanctuary Woods should sell off one of its biggest technological assets, as well as all the peoplepower required to go into immediate production, to the industry leader in educational/kids products (ie. Disney Interactive, Lion King bestseller since last year) who also happens to be their direct competitor? What's the deal there? Isn't SW just cutting off their nose in spite of their face? If Disney is able to take SW's "money hog" entertainment division and use it to some advantage in producing kids products, what the heck is SW's problem? Why didn't they convert their entertainment studio into an educational software development centre and make lots of money for themselves then? What good is $1.9 million now if they have no way to make any more money? I mean, what is SW's _true_ production capability now?
