Bootable floppy ...

My husband once tried to buy toast in a grocery store. They told him they didn't sell toast since everyone makes their own. They sell bread though.

Like toast, you'll need to make your own bootable floppy from the disks you purchase. Several methods can be used...

In Explorer, right click your floppy and select Format ...
First do a full format, then repeat the steps performing a copy system files.

OR

In a DOS window, use the command FORMAT A: /S to both format the floppy and copy system files in one step.

A 'QUICK' format only erases the file directory. To make the disk bootable, system files must be not only placed on the floppy, but they must be placed in the proper location; hence, only empty disks can be made bootable.

Cheers, PW.
