The last hiding place for a magical being was disproved recently with the discovery that the universe is flat (and consequently there is no "other" universe where a magical being may be influencing it). Magical creative beings are disproved within the universe by information flow. The type of control necessary to create an earth with intelligent creatures would leave a non-random residual effect. As with science there is always an IF. In this case it is If there really is a universe. Nothing I know of yet disproves nihlism, that is to say our universe could be a simulation or the dream of a butterfly. TP
