In any event, hedonic pricing shouldn't be applied to products since it double counts cost savings. Take for example, air bags. I believe I read where auto prices were being adjusted down by the BLS for the inclusion of air bags. This double counts the benefits of air bags since I am already receiving a discount on my auto insurance for having air bags.
