Well, consider that in the old german 'die Welt' was used as 'das Weltall' is now, it was a more encompassing term than we now consider 'the world' to be .... for all we know that which [boy am i looking for trouble with 'that which', lol] we call 'the universe' [das Weltall] is indeed on the back of a turtle, in a scale or in a dimension we are not yet able to recognise, perhaps a diabolical experiment by some zit-faced delinquent child of a supreme being, although should we actually succeed in communicating with this being we may find that even her power and intelligence is overshadowed by that of another. We just don't know. But - i do know the smell of turtles, and of turtle soup ... and i don't smell either now. Which is not fair - the turtle was allegory, crafted to serve a purpose [i suppose] [edit] - much like the Eli n story was [whew, found a way to bring this back on-topic]
