AMD had better be helping ALi and SiS big-time. There's nothing better than competition to improve products.

Chipsets seem like a funny business, it's a low margin operation compared to CPUs, and a good chipset can't cover for a bad cpu, but a bad chipset can sure mess up a good cpu.

Of course, AMD should be doing its best to help all the chipset makers, including Via. That's probably not enough, though. First of all, AMD should make sure that its own chipsets get out, and are capable of doing the job. Push comes to shove, you can't count on anybody else.

"There are no allies, only interests." - Clausewitz, maybe?

Cheers, Dan.
