Cirruslvr, shrinks have already happened. I can assure you that not all CuMines out there are the same size die. In fact there many be several die sizes out there.

While we are on the subject allow me to define some terms. A "shrink" refers to an optical scaling where the layout itself is not changed. This is in contrast to a compaction where the layout is redone. Either a shrink or a compaction can occur in a transition to a finer process i.e .13u but a shrink also sometimes occurs when a minor change takes place to a process that is more of a refinement than an actual new process. A compaction would be required to take advantage of an additional metal layer which frequently becomes available in the new process conversion.
