Specifically this link is what I was reading, and it got my mind going.

When reading about what Infiniband will do for storage and servers, by opening incredible storage bandwidth and clustering power, that will literally "pour out onto the internet", with endless numbers of cascading switches forming an incredible fabric, it made me start visualizing what a cluster of Data Centers, clustering thousands of servers in each, could look like in five or ten years and the awesome computing power that will well up and flow out into the tiniest extremities of the internet. Visions of giant Infiniband Directors filled my head. Directors with 32 Port Modules popping in,as needed, to form multi-thousand port fabrics. I pictured DWDM Fibers carrying 256 Channels of Multistaged Lightwaves, weaving an Optical Fabric, from the "Mother" of all DWDM Infiniwave Directors out to the smallest of Infiniband Switches embedded in Motherboards, factory Robots and Internet Appliances, that keep the world humming at an ever faster pace. It's fun to imagine anyways. We will see if it ever happens.
