DIGITAL RIVER ANNOUNCES FIRST CONTRACT FOR SECURE
ENCRYTION

Source: PR Newswire

MINNEAPOLIS, June 19 /PRNewswire/ via Individual Inc. -- Digital River, Inc., announced today that it has signed a contract with Seattle Support Group, Inc., that will allow customers of the Seattle firm to make purchases over the Internet using Digital River's secure encryption technology.

Seattle Support Group povides stock photographs to artists, designers and publications, which it currently markets on CD-Roms. The company is the first to sign up for Digital River's system.

Joel Ronning, president of Digital River, said, "Security issues have been the major detriment to commerce on the Internet. We expect that our secure encryption system, which should be in place and operating by August, will provide a significant impetus to the sale of digital products through the Internet. Our clients will gain a significant market advantage by being able to offer almost instant delivery to their customers."

Digital River, Inc., based in Minneapolis, has developed an encryption technology to enable the selling of digital data over the Internet while maintaining the security of that transaction. It will initially use that technology to sell computer software over the Internet to both dealers and end users. Also, one of Digital River's encryption technologies can be used to provide a "try-before-you-buy" option to software distributed over the Internet or in a variety of disk formats -- floppy disks, hard disks, magneto-optical disks, CD-ROM or zip disks.
