I think they know that the paper gold market will just shut down before their shorts are burned. That is why I say that all paper will burn. There can be no other explanation for the prolongation of the gold carry trade right now. When I mean shut down, I mean that something similar to what happened in Japan with palladium a few months ago will happen and be prolonged.

Any miner who must go through a bullion bank will throw up their hands in exasperation, except those who can sell bullion directly.
