It is important to NTAP holders to realize that the BRCD/CSCO development relationship will not give SAN a competitive edge over NTAP's NAS.

We must be careful to realize, again, that SAN vendors use FC technology, but so does NTAP. FC is not "SAN". FC is used to network two NTAP filers to become soft failover partners. FC will also be used for future NTAP filer clustering schemes.

Remember that BRCD is also a technology partner with NTAP.

The technology that the BRCD/CSCO and BRCD/NTAP deals deliver will be very, very good for NTAP.
