bs-ram doesn't seem to have any perceptible advantage in either low-level bandwidth benchmarks or higher-level application benchmarks, but I'm sure there must be something where it looks good.

Go back and read the May issues of PC Mag and PC World where the Dell 800Mhz systems with RDRAM did better than the 1GHz Athlons. New systems with the PIII/820/RDRAM combo took 3 of the top 5 slots in the Performance categories, won 15 of 16 individual tests, and the 1G PIIIs/820/RDRAM combo beat the 1G Athlons by up to 33%.
