"I would add S&P midcap 400 (MDY)..."

My purpose in posting the indices was primarily to measure how well Bob's sell signal is working. While traditionally Bob liked to use the Wilshire 5000 qw q benchmark, around the time he made the call, he was downplaying the Wilshire 5000, saying there is not enough history.

Prior to that, he had talked negatively about using the DJIA index, saying it is "only 30 stocks". Around the time he made the sell signal call, he started talking favorably about using the DJIA as a measure, presumably due to its lengthy history.

Bob has always been a fan of the S&P 500, referring to the Vanguard S&P 500 index fund and the Spiders (SPY).

I included the NASDAQ only because, in the past when I would post these results, I would get remarks like "people have loaded up on tech stocks and are getting killed, even though the DJIA and S&P500 are relatively unscathed".
