Bill, I don't disagree with your points either, although the elimination of a competitor is the weakest of the points, since Novacor was many years away from their "next generation" device. I believe there can be a case made for both points of view.

I believe there are many things in this deal that have strengthened WHT, but that cannot dispel the nagging doubts about their ability to get to human trials AND successfully complete them. Furthermore, one wonders whether the company was overly optimistic in their original schedule. They may have saved themselves the loss of credibility had they not laid out such an aggressive (unrealistic?) timeline to begin with.

Although they seemingly have made great strides in the past year, this is still a highly speculative stock and should be treated as such IMO.
