Regarding the competitive strength of AMTX.

You may recall that I raised some of these questions several months back in several posts to Pat.

It is a real concern whether Amati can be taken seriously as a potential supplier to a major telecom. co.. Obviously, if they make a committment to offer a new service they must be able to deliver.

In today's world, a lot can be done with out sourcing. But, the issues of controlling quality and dedication to deadlines is more complex and requires qualified and experienced staff to ride heard on the suppliers.

If we accept that the mgmt. of Amati is not dumb, we can assume they are giving a lot of thought to the problem. But, I still have not seen anything that has answered the lingering questions I have about how the problems will be handled.

Even so, I have 3Xed my position since I raised the questions. So, I quess it is obvious that I am betting that people smart enough to put the technical package together are smart enough to solve the supply problem.

If I'm the dumb one, I think I have a lot of company among my pals on this thread.

I would really appreciate some input from one of our techies regarding a release that I read this morning regarding the announcement by ALA (Alcatel) that S.G. Thompson was commiting to the ALA ATM approach to high capacity Internet and Intranet rather than ADSL DMT. Have I missed something here? I don't recall seeing information that ATM could be, by itself, a substitute for ADSL. I would post the article itself but I am not well enough versed on how to copy a news relase from MSN Investor to the internet through Compuserve where I am now.

Incidently, I tried to cut and paste the intro. to your orig. msg. at the top of this response but the cut and copy utility is not available under the Edit tool. The words are there but are not highlighted so they can be selected.

Another incidently: In response to Pat's query to Bozo T. C.; I don't take anyone on this thread seriously unless he/she uses his/her name. I'm not interested in anyone's opinion that doesn't have the guts to reveal his/her identity and potential biases.
