Leland - I know that feeling... When I was a very green trader back in 1995-96 and thought I was invincible I held ADBE overnight - 500 shares. I was not aware that earnings came out that night. Walked by a broker's office who had CNBC on - heard Sue Herrera's voice saying that ADBE was down 13 points. I did a double take... Didn't have the facilities to exit the trade as the other traders had gone home and who was I supposed to call (I didn't know at the time). Next morning blew out the ADBE 21 points lower. My boss was quite understanding about me losing over 10 grand of his money overnight, actually.
