Oh dear. Remember when we buried my beautiful neurological student's cat Tasha? She died in the hand carved house her Daddy built her, stunk it up and we couldn't get Uhm.... this sounds a little like a Viking burial at sea.... Always thought that might be the way to go.. and that maybe I should be sure to procure a nice, dry, canvas and cedar canoe solely for such a purpose..... Except that I've always had a problem with the burning Viking ship burial.... How does the ship stay on fire long enough to burn the Viking? I mean, chances are that the Viking wants to be...uhm...well done.... BEFORE the ship sinks and dumps him into the icy deep... I mean... if the Viking just wanted to be ceremoniously dumped into the sea , why not just send him off in a ship that just had a big hole chopped in the hull? Stick with me on this... You see... if you torch the ship and give it a shove out to sea... My guess is that the sides burn down to water level... and then... fizzle.... flames poop out... and ship sinks.... Viking is only half-cooked at best?? Am I right about this?? Anyone care to refute this argument??
