While at Encore, he developed three generations of scalable clusters, including Gigamax, the world's first cache coherent distributed shared memory cluster. David has been very active in working on standards for high performance interconnects. He was a principal contributor to the Scalable Coherent Interconnect (SCI). David has been an active contributor to ANSI T11. He contributed the Selective Replicate function for FC-AL. He authored the Register Insertion Protocol (RIP) proposal, which has served as the basis for FC-AL-3.
