Last year I bought some physical gold, U.S. Eagles, and sold it later in the year, and lost money on the deal because of the hefty premium you pay buying and selling - around $10 a coin each way. Also, coin dealers are sort of few and far between. The nearest one to me is an hour away. Some people just love owning gold. It made me nervous.
