Learn to use facts to support your arguments and perhaps you won't be making such a fool of yourself in full view of everybody here.

You're just being stubborn because you think that somehow, some way the vast Chinese market will miraculously turn the tide.....except that the Chinese manufacturers, as they will acknowledge unstintingly in the Mandarin-speaking press, still do not have the logistics to handle the volume to make a difference even inside China (85% market share by the Big 3) and they do not have the deep sub-micron processes/fabs to make their own chips. They're justifiably proud, however, of their increasing competence in network cores and base stations. Now, make a mental note here about the $1.9 billion semiconductor factory that Motorola is setting up there as part of its $4 billion investment program.

That kind of self-appraisal is usually a sign of good things to come.......but guess who's been assisting the likes of Eastcomm, for example, in that steep learning curve? Qualcomm? Dream on.

Now, retrieve that mental note I told you to write. Motorola has been doing that for while now with its GSMA and CDMA networks in China. Ericsson and Nokia have similar programs too. Remember these easily verifiable facts when you start to get flighty and your imagination starts to run wild: $1.3 billion in GSM contracts were awarded in 1999 and $1.2 billion in GSM contracts will be awarded this year.

No chips, no basestations, no handsets! Exactly what is so difficult to understand about that? LOL.

And as for IDC, PSSSSSSSSST! The joke is on you, you yoyo. IDCC quadrupled during the last week of 1999 partly due to changing fundamentals but mostly due to Qualcomm hype. Remember the pre-split $1000 price target? Why, even the high-temperature superconductivity companies -- CDTS, SCON, ISCO, IMG, AMSC -- took advantage of the Qualcomm hype, fed by the trading frenzy of gullible folks like you, to raise some capital. LOL.

Look at you. You can't even find the darn connection between persistent component shortages and handset availability. LOL. I say again, stop wasting my time if you have nothing but your lame wit and vile temper.
