MU versus IFX -
I have not followed MU to closely but this company has had the cost leadership in DRAMS for years and has emerged from the downturns stronger than its competitors.
MU never had the technology leadership but has managed to keep its costs lower than its competitors and has avoided big losses during the downturns.
IFX has good technology but its margins are mediocre even in the current boom, which could point to high costs. I remember that Infineon as part of the Siemens company made billion dollar losses as recently as two years ago.
Anyways both companies operate in a business with boom and bust periods and a PE of 60 in the peak boom period is downright ridiculous.
