Dear Roger: Hmmm, Personally, I cant get excited about taking aim at EMC since that also is a major holding for me. But, I believe the storage market is big enough and growing fast enough for several successful vendors. Just dont like terms like "Commoditizing" as that, in the end hurts everyone. However, related to these announcements I believe the following is actually the most important part of it. Software is the key to major success here. JDN Sun is also unveiling software, called StorEdge Network Data Replicator, or SNDR, to help manage both locally and remotely data management software for protection from planned or unplanned disruptions. The storage hardware products are shipping now, Sun said, while some of its software is being sold now, with more due in the next 45 days.
