This article says its a phase locked loop synthesizer module which consists of PLL(phase locked loop) integrated circuit, voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) and a loop filter.

That make more sense to me than your article that called it a 'Position Switching Module.' Often the person translating the press release to english doesn't know the technical subject and makes stuff up.
