jw,

I just did some calculating, and I see that your FSB is overclocked about 54% with the cpu running at 824MHz. At that setting, your external clock divider (I think this means PCI clock) is 1/3, and is derived from the FSB. And you would manually set your AGP to 2/3. The resulting frequencies would be:

FSB = 102
PCI = 34 (vs 33 spec)
AGP = 68 (vs 66 spec)

So, you're in a sweet spot. Very nice.

One other thing I notice is that your Celeron is designed for a 66MHz FSB, which makes me think that it may be SMP capable (since it's not a 100MHz type). Probably not, but definitely worth checking out, as I would jump for a couple!

The BIOS Flash is a cool little trick. Good idea to practice it a few times: that's how the army does it! <g>

I'm not into Dual processors. One seems to handle trading, portfolio, charts & surfin OK. Think you are right about CuMines not being SMP capable.

I LOVE the SMP. Probably doesn't make too much difference most of the time, but it's a pretty cheap upgrade, IMO (although Intel is obviously trying to make it difficult).

ps; temp holding steady about 29.3c with the Orb. Have a Radio Shack Indoor/Outdoor thermometer with probe wedged alongside of heatsink and CPU plate, touching both. I think it's within a couple c's of being correct

That seems VERY cool. Nice setup! Thanks for all the info -- it's really time-consuming to research all the nitty gritty to make an informed buy.

My DSL is working well. I get knocked off every once in a while. For several days it would happen maybe once a day. Been better lately. Maybe it was my computer which has been grumpy lately. Yesterday I reinstalled an old clone of my O/S and it seems to feel better now. DriveImage is a great Windows antidote...

Regards,
wily
