Nevada desert dirts are mentioned in an article that ran in the Dallas Morning News weekend edition. The jist (sp?) of the story was about Native Americans old treaty rights being unhonored by the BLM and Interior Dept's. Namely the Western Shoshone tribe had all the rights to a large portion of Nevada, and their 1863 treaty was never recalled or changed, so they still operate (grazing rights) as they have done for well over a hundred years.

Well, it seems that there is new interest from miners wanting to stake all those microfine dirt areas to seek new gold resources. Kinda reminds me of the old Black Hills story where another Native American group got the shaft, and it wasn't a mine shaft! There have been a few arrests & some jail time for those opposing our trusted BLM, and related gov't players. Like the man said "Show me the money" and we will get them injuns out of the way!! Will the new rallying call be "There's gold in that there dust"? just an off the wall thought..
