I think that ULBI's and VLNC strategies are quite different. ULBI promised to be ready to ship polymer batteries before the end of the first half, and they have delivered. Their approach is "walk before you run", rather than VLNC's approach "all speed ahead, damn the torpedoes". I have mentioned this difference before on this thread. The former assumes that Mr Murphy will have its way, and in case of a major recall, they will not be endangering corporate survival. The latter attempts to rapidly reach critical mass and grab market share as fast as possible. If something goes wrong, there will be a danger to corporate survival. Both approaches have validity, risks and rewards. By the way, the release does state that they have "sizeable" orders on hand, whatever that means.
