I totally agree. Daytrading for many constitutes gambling and margin is the death of many traders. I hold many LT posiions and trade outside the core on most of them. I know many daytraders who allocate only a portion of their capital to strictly swing trading and who have built respectable positions in many companies as I do as well. Limiting your capital to one form of investing in one stock or style is ludicrous and irresponsible. 99% of the time these people are wiped out. allocation, diversification, and preserving Capital are all necessary. Many times that means trading outside the core with the market direction to preserve your investment and to capitalize on the volatility.
Good luck to you too
