wow, does this email ever contradict what we've come to believe recently about free subscriptions!...

"Subject: Norton SystemWorks [RESUBSCRIBE TO NORTON WEB SERVICES - 06/13/2000]

From: TipWorld <donotreply@boing.topica.com>

And now for today's tip...

RESUBSCRIBE TO NORTON WEB SERVICES

Norton SystemWorks 2000 includes a free six-month subscription to
Symantec's online LiveUpdate Pro service, which lets you download free
updates to the hardware drivers and applications on your computer as
well as various shareware and pay-for-play programs.

To purchase a full $30 per-year subscription at the end of the free
period, click the Web Services button of the SystemWorks 2000
Integrator main screen, then click Visit Norton Web Services (you may
need to have an Internet connection running already).

Click the Renew Subscription button in the Members Area. In the next
screen, click the Renew Now button. Follow the prompts and fill in the
forms. Symantec will ask you for a credit card number; you can pay on
either an annual or a monthly basis.

Good luck!"

something about that 'Good luck!' that always gives me pause...
