Smart-e-Card Update
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Global TeleMedia International (OTC: GTMI) (www.GTMI.com) announced that BentleyTel.com (www.bentleytel.com) a majority owned subsidiary was an exhibitor of the recent Internet World Trade Show held in Sydney Australia. (http://iw-asia.com/au/) BentleyTel.com which officially took over the Internet dial-up services of the Australian Northern Territory Government in June 2000 as the first phase of a $110 million 5-year Government contract, is in a consortium with Compaq, Optus, Cable & Wireless and NEC.
Managing Director of BentleyTel.com Australia Felino Molina said, "We are working round the clock integrating thousands of Government clients into our system as well as the ongoing MessagePilot(TM) engineering with Data Exchange in Richardson, Texas. We developed a high security Remote Access Client Management system for the Northern Territory Government, to enable access, tracking, logging and accounting of each client, and will soon deploy a secure VPN from the Dial-In Service to the Government LAN. This can be licensed to operators of secure networks in the USA."
"Our new products were 'on show' the first time and proved to be a huge success. Much of the interest was with the VoIP; VPN applications particularly from call centers who see our service as a real boost to profits. BentleyTel.com has the first Ericsson-Tigris national ISP/VoIP platform with a POP in every state of Australia. Being one of the leading ISP's in Australia, upon the enabling of its VoIP platform, will be the first national company to offer full service ISP, VPN, VoIP, and virtual PABX to multi-national companies, as well as B2B and B2C and Unified integrated messaging."
He continued, "Once the provision of ATM (Asynchronous Transmission Mode) connection to BentleyTel as well as the frame relay link between BentleyTel and the Government WAN is completed, we will be supplying all the Internet access to the Northern Territory Government workers from inside their LAN as well as remote Dial-In access, secure virtual private network (VPN) connections to the Northern Territory Government LAN. This will more than double our existing client base."
The acquisition of Data Exchange Inc. is in the final stages. DEI is a leading software engineering and development company almost exclusively staffed by former NORTEL senior executives and software engineers. Headed by Ken Heffner, former Vice President and General Manager of NORTEL, Data Exchange and BentleyTel through a co-development agreement, are already in advanced testing stages of MessagePilot(TM), a unified integrated messaging system that gathers e-mail, Voicemail, pager and fax, converts text to speech and can screen incoming messages and deliver all or only priority messages. Data Exchange added two more engineers to accelerate final testing prior to a full beta test. The MessagePilot(TM) system will be accessible in up to 100 countries and retrievable on any phone, PC or Web TV. It can be viewed at www.messagepilot.com. It has B2B and B2c applications and is available on the BentleyTel.com Smart-e-Card or as a stand-alone product.
President of GTMI Jonathon Bentley-Stevens said, "We are scheduled to meet in Richardson Texas on June 21st - 23rd for the first live 'Log On' testing of the international platform."
"We have focused on positioning the Company at the forefront of the 'Smart-e-Card' and 'Unified Integrated Messaging' revolution. Both applications reportedly have a market potential of at least $50 billion. The Smart-e-Card is in the final stages of pre-production development. The final coding layout and encryption are being addressed and this is being accomplished in conjunction with our data processor."
He continued, "With International excitement over our new products and the focus on Sydney with the upcoming Olympic Games, it was a fantastic showcase for BentleyTel.com. We are particularly proud of our BentleyTel.com Australia, Managing Director Felino Molina who will be a keynote speaker in the August 14th 2000 ISPCom in Melbourne, Australia. With the Olympic games even closer we expect many of the international visitors to take the opportunity to visit us at the August ISPCom show."
Mr. Bentley-Stevens said, "With all this going on we have also been undergoing the most complex audit I have ever been involved in. With the merger of BHFC and GTMI barely a year old we also acquired BentleyTel.com and it in turn acquired an ISP, international telecom and a computer sales and IT company in 3 different countries all in the same year. This called for a full reconstruction audit, the most complex and time-consuming type of audit. In a reverse merger the acquiring company becomes the target for the primary audit, which is then further complicated by the different methodology in 3 different countries. To management and shareholders it is an expensive and time-consuming event, however with our application for Amex listing, we required standardization of auditing principles and uniformity of financial year-end accounting."
"Personally, I stand corrected. I firmly believed we would be done 2 weeks ago, however Mendoza & Berger and our staff have put in unprecedented hours, holidays and weekends, all in an effort to finalize this audit as soon as possible. All BDO audit teams in the three other countries worked as one to deliver first-rate international standard audits and this will be the platform for the future quarterly reports which, under the new SEC Rules now have to be reviewed by auditors. Out of the 6,000 publicly listed companies 2,400 reportedly received an 'E,' or were deficient in their filings. The new rules are tough, but if we are truly a 'Global' company then now is the time, no matter how tough, to set new standards for on-time accurate reporting for our future earnings and revenues."
The auditors are in the final stages of the audit and the 10KSB/A will be filed as soon as possible.
