I will spell it out. If it costs $30,000 annually (or more considering the extraordinary legal costs) to care for a murderer, then I want $30,000 (or more) to be paid annually to the victims's next of kin. I would happily pay this, you can pay for the murderer's care. It's balance, it's justice. It's not revenge and it's admittedly not bringing back the dead. It's my bargain with you for the compassion you require.
