Globalstar Offers No Cost Switch to Iridium Clients - Brazil April 28, 2000 The 2,120 former subscribers to the defunct Iridium satellite phone service can switch over to competitor Globalstar (NASDAQ: GSTRF) at no cost thanks to an agreement between the two companies, the chairman of state regulator Anatel, Renato Guerreiro, said. Iridium users will receive Globalstar phone kits as part of the deal. Iridium suspended its service in March after it was unable to find an investor to save the floundering company.
