Only if employee stock options are tied into an index, and require a 2 or 3 year performance average relative to the index, can they be considered safe for shareholders. Otherwise, a current pool of managers can manipulate the price and leave the legacy management with the problem. This is why knowing the track record of the managers is important....to know where they came from did not tank after they left, or if it did, why. Martin Thomas
