Speaking of tastes, I bought an electric Char-Broil smoker, and a couple of days ago tried it out using a Boston Butt. Good results, I thought, especially for a first try. My goal is pork tender enough to be pulled apart by the fingers.

Tomorrow - or is it Saturday - I am supposed to help someone roast an entire pig using a specially-made device he says is as big as a Dumpster. Not that I like the juxtaposition of food and Dumpsters. I am hopeful that such a device will come in handy at our next barbacoa.
