Yes. The problem with 'pull', is that it takes a herculean marketing effort (money) to induce/convince consumers that it's 'worth' the extra money.

As claims of super merit tend towards unsupportable, marketing dollars must increase. Anyone can make a shoe as good as Nike, so they must forever pay 'stars' hundreds of millions to sport the logo, and convince people that Nike is 'worth' more.
