Ontex Resources Limited announces additional results of drilling
from the 29,000 acre, 655 claim Beardmore-Geraldton property,
located 180 km northeast of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The Company
recently completed a phase of drilling in three different
locations on both the Brookbank and Foxear Properties. The
Brookbank Property is owned 100% by Ontex and contains the
Brookbank Gold Deposit. Placer Dome calculated an inferred
mineral resource for the deposit in 1990, totalling 1,381,980
tons, grading 0.263 ounces of gold per ton, 0.233 ounces per ton
(cut to 1oz. Au/ton). The resource remains open along strike and
at depth. The Cherbourg-Foxear Property comprises a group of 170
claims throughout Irwin Township wherein Ontex is earning a 60%
interest from Metalore Resources Limited.
Recent drilling on the Brookbank claim group consisted of 9 new
holes, and wedges from 1 of these holes. The three part objective
of the program was to: 1) test the volcanic/sedimentary contact
on the western edge of the property, 2) test the eastern down
plunge extension of the Brookbank Deposit, particularly at depths
below 2000 feet (600 metres), and 3) examine a shear zone and
related quartz vein system to the east. Results show that there
is downward continuity to a depth of 838 meters (2750 feet) below
surface. Drilling on the Cherbourg-Foxear Property consisted of
three drill holes designed to test: 1) both the western down
plunge, and lateral continuity of the Foxear Zone in relation to
holes drilled by Placer Dome in 1989 and 2) the down dip
continuity on the "Irwin Showing" area of the Foxear Property.
Significant results are compiled in the table appended to this
release.
Ontex is continuing to drill the Beardmore-Geraldton property
with present activity focused on expanding the Brookbank Deposit
laterally along strike. Drilling is currently testing the
down-dip extension of the "Irwin Showing" on the Foxear Property.
Further results will be released as they are completed.
