AMD says that 2nd quarter revenues are expected to be down more than
15% below first quarter revenues of $544M due to decrease in flash
memory sales. They also say that they do not expect to meet street
estimates of 6 cents eps. Meanwhile, they also say that they have
over $400M cash and only $200M long term debt. Considering all the
mergers and acquisitions related expenses, that doesn't sound too bad.
However, they don't say whether the 6 cents estimate is going to end
ups being a net loss or not. But they do have plenty of operating
cash flow, so even if they do end up losing a little on the net, that
still won't be too bad. This stock is not going to turn around until
the tech sector starts seeing better news but I still think this is a
good long term holding at these prices...we'll see $20+ again someday
and maybe $39 again if we wait long enough.
