Dear Rudedog: To be honest, although I certainly am no expert, I was thinking the same thing. I even thought, perhaps because of the lower price AND great scalability that SUNW really is attacking the NTAP space even though I realize NTAP is NAS and SUNW product is SAN. The demonstrations were very impressive and if its still available I would strongly urge you to go and listen and watch them at the site. (URL was posted on this thread the day of the demonstration). I was thinking perhaps they emphasized EMC and its refridgerator sized and priced boxes to get even with EMC saying SUNW was no competition some months ago. Another question, you seem pretty close to what goes on in this industry. Have you noticed Scott McNeally seems to be turning more and more over to Ed Zander? Nothing against Ed as he is obviously very bright, but noone in the whole world, IMHO has Scotts ability to delight the audience with his quips etc. and the unique ability to explain things in laymens terms that EVEN I can usually understand. haha. JDN
